Leadership of Patriot Front
Reporting cited on this profile identifies Rousseau as Patriot Front’s founder and national leader. The organization formed after the 2017 Charlottesville events; this page does not treat activity predating Patriot Front’s founding as activity by the organization.
Coeur d’Alene case
In June 2022, Rousseau was among 31 Patriot Front members arrested near a Pride event in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and charged with misdemeanor conspiracy to riot. In November 2023, a state court dismissed the charge against him after finding repeated disclosure failures by the prosecution. Prosecutors appealed. The dismissal is described here as a procedural disposition, not as a finding about the underlying allegations.
Virginia torch-march case
In February 2024, Rousseau was arrested on a Virginia warrant connected to a 2017 torch-lit march at the University of Virginia, before Patriot Front’s founding. In October 2024, reporting stated that he entered a no-jail plea to a reduced disorderly-conduct charge; he received a 12-month suspended sentence, court costs, and a ban from University of Virginia grounds.
