On February 5, 2026, Edward Jacob "Jake" Lang was recorded on video kicking apart letters of a permitted ice sculpture reading "PROSECUTE ICE" installed on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul, altering it to read "PRO ICE." Ramsey County prosecutors charged Lang with first-degree felony criminal damage to property; on April 8, 2026, a second charge -- second-degree property damage motivated by bias against a person or group -- was added. Lang pleaded not guilty.
