Suzanne Scott -- Documented Editorial/Corporate Conduct Regarding Dominion Coverage

Overview

This page documents specific, sourced editorial/corporate conduct by Suzanne Scott connected to the Dominion election-fraud litigation against Fox. Per ExtremismLedger's editorial policy Sec. 0.1, this documentation does not constitute a determination that Scott is personally an extremist; no such classification has been made for this record -- inclusion_basis is set to the non-extremist "Associated participant / materially involved" basis, documenting the connection below without asserting personal extremism.

Documented activity

On December 2, 2020, after a Fox News correspondent fact-checked President Trump's unsupported election-fraud claims on air, Scott wrote internally that "This has to stop now," and that the fact-check was "bad for business" given "a lack of understanding of what is happening in these shows." She separately warned colleagues not to "give the crazies an inch" following the election.

Characterization

This reporting documents editorial/business-driven reluctance to correct on-air misinformation and concern about audience reaction; it is not evidence that Scott herself, on air or in a public statement, asserted the underlying Dominion fraud claims were true. Scott was also reported, along with Lachlan Murdoch, to have made the decision to part ways with Tucker Carlson in April 2023, one week after the Dominion settlement.
